Zmorge or Zvieri with regional specialities

Enjoy local specialities with Elisabeth, the Appenzeller of choice. Start the day with a hearty farmer's breakfast, for example. This includes rösti, bacon and fried eggs, homemade "Züpfe" and various types of bread, hammer, a rich selection of cheese and jam. Or how about a rich Zvieri platter with various sausages and cheeses from the region and fine fresh bread? At the "Käseteilt", mountain and alpine cheeses, goat's cheese and tasty Appenzeller cheese in various degrees of ripeness are put on the table. A glass of white and red wine from the only vineyard in the Appenzellerland is served with each cheese.


The Appenzell lunch or dinner

Would you rather enjoy lunch or dinner? Elisabeth will serve you the Appenzell classics: for the aperitif you'll snort Mostbröckli, Pantli and Säntissalami. For the main course the farmer's wife serves you Södworscht (boiled sausage) with Chäshörnli (a kind of cheese horn) and homemade apple sauce. For dessert you get the famous Schlorziflade, a cake with dried pears and cream.


About the countrywoman Elisabeth

Elisabeth originally comes from Basel, but she loves her adopted home and the regional specialities of the Appenzell region. And she is a hostess through and through. In her beautiful home in Appenzellerland you and your guests will be cordially treated. Enjoy carefree hours in the spacious attic apartment with a view of the surrounding mountain landscape. Over a nightcap in Elisabeth's winter garden you can admire the most beautiful sunset far and wide.


Activities in the region

Elisabeth's home is centrally located in the Appenzell foothills and is the perfect starting point for hikes or tours by bike, e-bike or moped. Guided tours are also possible. Let us put together a tailor-made programme for you.
