Where once fabrics were dyed, today you can dine royally. Experience a stimulating evening with aperitif, fine food and wine tasting.

The house and its history

For your next company dinner or family celebration, choose a place where Swiss industrial history was written. The Greuterhof near Frauenfeld was one of the first factories in Switzerland. Fabrics were dyed and printed here in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today you can enjoy oriental and other specialities in the modern renovated historical rooms. The inn, which was reopened in 2015, offers 38 rooms, a banquet hall for 120 people, a cosy restaurant with bar and several seminar rooms.


Guided tour and aperitif at the water wheel

You can also book a guided tour. This lasts about one and a half hours and provides you with exciting knowledge about the former factory as well as about Bernhard Greuter, who not only founded the fabric dyeing factory, but also introduced Switzerland's first company social insurance there.
The water wheel that completed the construction of the indigo dyeing plant in 1799 is still standing today. Enjoy a fine aperitif here.


Wine tasting and wine fondue

Enjoy an evening in our wine lounge with your team on your own. You start with the wine tasting, during which a little finger food is served. Experience the diversity of a wine. With aroma bottles you will recognize the scents of three red wines from the Salzl winery. For the winegrower fondue, the stock in the Mongolian pots is prepared from a mixture of bouillon and white wine. Three different types of meat (chicken, pork and beef) are cooked in it. As a side dish there are French fries, rice and regional vegetables.


Fine menus

Instead of the winegrower fondue, our kitchen will also create a wonderful 3 or 4-course menu for you. At beautifully laid tables we will spoil you and your guests extensively with our delicacies.

Mein Geburtstagsanlass war sehr gelungen. Dieser startete mit einer Führung durch die Geschichte des wirtschaftshistorischen Denkmals mit anschliessendem Apéro im Wasserrad Foyer und einem feinen Nachtessen neben dem Cheminée in der Bar. Das Essen und die aufmerksame Bedienung waren sehr gut. Ein empfehlenswerter Ort für diverse Anlässe.
